Dear Members, Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team. What’s been happening: We have conducted a walk through around Yew Tree with local Councillors discussing the concerns raised by the community in the locality of the Yew Tree. Parking, Business Watch, Litter, Street Furniture, ASB – including anti-social drinking in groups, shop theft and much more. This is for us to work in partnership to tackle the issues raised together. We also discussed a PSPO and BIDs. This will now be discussed further. All updates will be shared once able too. This is leading to more plans booked in with more visits to take place in the coming weeks and into the new year. 19 TPOs have been issued by officers, and the parking enforcement have issued another 13 parking fines for around the Yew Tree area. There have been many patrols conducted on the area and some areas have raised more concerns, than others and we will be prioritising those for that reason. We have been offering reassurance to the community involved with our patrols and engagement with individuals that are becoming repeat offenders. We have been conducting home visits to local prolific offenders to reduce them from committing further offences in the area. We are continuing this work and are currently in the process of getting them the correct support through our CGL and Offender 2 Recovery programme. We have requested for our Traffic department to assist and support with clamping down on vehicle related crimes in South Yardley. We have shared our key areas of concerns, and we are hoping this will bring some successful results. We have also requested for Guardian Taskforce to assist with ASB and under 25 violence in the area. Street Watch: Are you wanting to support your community? Why not join up to our street watch programme. If you are interested please do not hesitate to contact the below details and we will get you signed up or if you wish to gain an insight to how this works and what Street watch do and know who are your local Street Watch members.
